Human Nature, Self-Interest, and the Crisis of Global Peace

Today, humanity stands at a crossroads. On one side, there is scientific advancement, modern technology, space exploration, artificial intelligence, and an abundance of conveniences. On the other, there is moral decline, weakening of relationships, and the collapse of the soul of humanity. Every day, the media is filled with reports of oppression, war, racism, atrocities against minorities, and environmental destruction, these have become routine. The dire conditions in Palestine, Sudan, Ukraine, Kashmir, Syria, and other regions are loudly proclaiming that mankind has adopted the slogan of peace merely to mask its own hypocrisy. In reality, the human race is still shedding blood in the race for power, wealth, and dominance.

On a global level, powerful nations are attacking the freedom and sovereignty of the weak, while international organizations appear either helpless or biased. Social media may have connected people, but it has also opened new fronts of hatred, prejudice, and misinformation. Compassion in hearts has diminished, while the spirit of ego and self-centeredness has grown. Nations are sacrificing humanity for their interests, and individuals are becoming imprisoned in the shell of their own selves.

The demand of the time is that we, as human beings, hold ourselves accountable, raise our voices against injustice, and strive for true justice and peace. Otherwise, the day is not far when, due to our selfishness and negligence, we may destroy our very existence with our own hands.
