The Tragedy of the Pakistani People: Destitute Masses and the Financial Vulgarity of the Elite

Seventy percent of the country’s population is suffering from poverty, unemployment, and a lack of basic necessities. This is not merely an economic issue, it is a deep social and moral crisis. Education, a fundamental need, is now out of reach for the lower classes, ensuring that future generations of the poor remain in poverty. We have turned education into a business, public schools are substandard, and private institutions are beyond the financial reach of the average person.

Similarly, healthcare facilities are grossly inadequate, especially in rural areas where hospitals, doctors, and medicines are severely lacking. The poor cannot afford expensive private hospitals, and government hospitals are deprived of even basic medical facilities. Job opportunities are nearly nonexistent. Educated youth are wandering unemployed, and the working class is not paid fair compensation for their labor. Small businesses, skilled workers, and the agricultural sector lack government support, which continues to fuel the rise in poverty and unemployment.

The gravest tragedy is that successive governments have prioritized the interests of the elite, feudal lords, capitalists, and the powerful instead of solving public problems. The law is only enforced against the weak, while every door remains open for the powerful. This injustice has bred despair, anger, and a deep distrust in the system among the people.

To emerge from this crisis, it is essential to make education and healthcare national priorities. Institutions must be independent and empowered to root out corruption. Public awareness must be raised so that people can make better choices in leadership. What is needed is a system that does not merely protect the interests of the elite, but also ensures the welfare of the common citizen. Change is possible, but for that, the people must unite and struggle for their rights.
