Allah does not show mercy to the one who does not show mercy to others.

Allah does not show mercy to the one who does not show mercy to others.

The scope of Allah’s mercy is vast, and we should strive to cultivate the same breadth of compassion for His creation in our hearts. When we look down on others for their mistakes, we often forget that our own lives are also not free from sins and weaknesses. Each of us, in some way, is dependent on Allah, always in need of His forgiveness.

In life, there will be many moments when we feel disappointed or angry at others because of their behavior, actions, or words. In such moments, we need to remind ourselves that we, too, are in need of Allah’s grace. Just as we seek His mercy despite our own flaws and faults, we are also commanded to forgive others and to pray for their well-being.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught us the importance of mercy, forgiveness, and goodwill toward one another. He said, “Allah does not show mercy to the one who does not show mercy to others.” This hadith teaches us that the path to drawing closer to Allah involves developing compassion and forgiveness in our hearts for others.

The Quran says:

“O you who have believed, do not follow the footsteps of Satan. And whoever follows the footsteps of Satan – indeed, he enjoins immorality and wrongdoing. And if not for the favor of Allah upon you and His mercy, not one of you would have ever been pure, but Allah purifies whom He wills, and Allah is Hearing and Knowing.”

(Surah An-Nur, Ayah 21)

Embrace Allah’s mercy with an open heart, and strive to share it with those around you. When we rid our hearts of arrogance, hatred, and resentment, we truly begin to draw closer to Allah. May Allah make us all compassionate and forgiving toward others, and grant us His forgiveness. Ameen.
