When a nation or state begins to decline….
When a nation or state begins to decline, its social, political, and moral structures start to deteriorate. Negative tendencies such as chaos and looting increase, and individuals begin to divide into groups for their protection and survival.
Reason and wisdom are replaced by lies and rumors, and falsehood becomes more prominent than truth. Personal identity fades away, and people start associating their identity with different groups, sects, or parties. In such conditions, the voices of intellectuals and thinkers weaken, while those who are adept at creating noise and uproar become more dominant.
National, religious, and social values decline, and trust in relationships is replaced by suspicion and betrayal. As a result, people become inclined toward emigration or leaving their homeland. The homeland becomes a temporary place, where people’s belongings are reduced to a single bag, and dreams of the future, hopes, and memories turn into mere stories.
These circumstances are deeply unfortunate and alarming for any nation or state, and to avoid them, self-reflection, justice, and the promotion of collective wisdom are essential.
