The most powerful weapon for a person’s spiritual protection is the remembrance of Allah (Dhikr). Dhikr not only brings peace to the heart, but it also strengthens one’s faith, purifies intentions, and helps control the desires of the soul. The very first attack of Shaytan is to make a person forget the remembrance of Allah, and this negligence then leads a person toward sins.Allah Almighty says in the Holy Qur’an: „ Surely, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find peace.” (Surah Ar-Ra’d, Ayah 28)- That means whoever keeps remembering Allah continuously, their heart remains content and tranquil, and the deceptions of Shaytan cannot affect them.The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ also said about the virtue of Dhikr: „The one who remembers Allah abundantly is alive, and the one who does not is like the dead.” (Sahih Bukhari & Muslim – Meaning)- In another hadith, the Prophet ﷺ stated: „The house in which Allah is remembered is alive, and the one in which He is not remembered is like a dead house.”(Musnad Ahmad)-Whoever remains engaged in Dhikr regularly comes under the protection of Allah, as mentioned in a Hadith Qudsi where Allah says: äI am with My servant when he remembers Me.” (Sahih Bukhari – Meaning) –
O Allah! Grant us the ability to remain in Your remembrance, fill our hearts with Your love, and always protect us from the evil of Shaytan. Ameen.
