When I see the Chinese people celebrating Pakistan’s success, it reflects a bond rooted not in interests, but in sincerity, brotherhood, and mutual trust. This is the reflection of a long-standing friendship and genuine goodwill. But what truly saddens me is when some Pakistanis, born in this very land, who benefitted from its soil, received education and opportunities here, go abroad and begin to echo narratives that align with our adversaries. They rejoice in the successes of those who oppose us, as if they have a personal connection with them.
Such behavior is not just unpatriotic; it is a sign of moral decline. The true purpose of education is to cultivate awareness. But when that awareness becomes disconnected from the homeland, it turns into a mere burden of information, lacking emotion, dignity, and identity.
Every democratic society allows for disagreement, and every citizen has the right to critique. But when someone disgraces their own country, adopts the rhetoric of the enemy, and treats foreign narratives as truth, this is not freedom of expression, it is betrayal of the very soil that gave them identity, dreams, and a future.
Sadly, some have come to equate personal progress with forgetting their homeland. They treat their national identity as a burden to be discarded. But let it be remembered: love for one’s country is not a trend or a temporary feeling. It is a debt, one inherited through the sacrifices of our ancestors, our culture, and our history. Even if they feel no shame, the nation knows who its true loyalists are, and who are merely Pakistani by name.
