The Backbiters and slanderers will be seized on the Day of Resurrection.

The backbiting and mocking are harmful to both individuals and society as a whole. They promote hatred, distrust, and distance among people, weakening the bonds of love, brotherhood, and unity. The Quran condemns such behavior strongly, as illustrated in Surah Al-Humazah and Surah Al-Hujurat.

In Surah Al-Humazah, Allah warns those who indulge in backbiting and mocking, indicating the severe consequences awaiting those who hurt others’ dignity. Similarly, in Surah Al-Hujurat, backbiting is likened to eating the flesh of a dead brother, highlighting its severity and sinful nature.

The essence of Islamic teachings is to foster love, compassion, and goodwill among believers. We are encouraged to see others’ virtues and honor them, rather than pointing out their flaws and shaming them. This approach not only strengthens our own faith but also enhances social relationships, laying the foundation for a positive, stable, and prosperous society.

It is a responsibility for every Muslim to avoid backbiting and mocking so that we can build a society that reflects fraternity, love, and respect.
